Bottom Line icon

BOTTOM LINE: Is the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 Robot Vacuum and Mop Just a Dad Approved?

It IS Just A Dad Approved — A genuinely rare find — real LiDAR navigation at my entry-budget price point. Good app, easy to maintain, and does a solid job on everyday vacuuming. I'd skip the mop attachment entirely; it's not built for it, and there's no carpet sensor to keep it off rugs. Worth it only if the price stays at my budget threshold — it's an aging, out-of-stock model, so check availability first.

At my entry-budget price point, the LiDAR navigation and auto-empty dock are the real story — that combination is genuinely hard to find this cheap. Once a robot in this category climbs into a higher price bracket, I think there are better options worth considering instead.

Cleaning Performance

Good day-to-day vacuuming on hard floors and carpet, with a good app that's easy to use. It's not built for deep cleaning, and the single brush roller will develop hair wrap over time — budget the occasional cleaning session for it.

The Mop — Don't Use It

This is a 2-in-1 on paper, but my clear instruction is to skip the mop attachment entirely: don't install the mop pad, don't fill the water tank. The pad drags across the floor instead of lifting or vibrating, and there's no carpet sensor, so you'd need to manually map out every carpeted area in the app to keep it from mopping over rugs. I treat this as a vacuum-only robot.

Is It Worth It?

Only at my entry-budget price point. Above that, other robots are a better value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Buyer Questions
Should I use the mop on the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2?+

No — skip it entirely. Don't install the mop pad and don't fill the water tank. The pad drags instead of lifting or vibrating, and there's no carpet sensor to keep it off rugs.

Does it work well with pets?+

It'll pick up pet hair fine day to day, but the brush roller will develop hair wrap over time — budget the occasional cleaning session for the roller.

How does obstacle avoidance work on this robot?+

LiDAR navigation handles furniture well, but there's no dedicated low-object sensor — anything under about 4 inches tall can get run over. Best for a home that's generally picked up.

Is this robot still available?+

It's been phased out in favor of the Dreame D20 Plus and was out of stock on Amazon as of my last check. Confirm current availability before buying.
