The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is the middle sibling in the older L10s Ultra lineup, alongside the original L10s Ultra and the L10s Pro Ultra Heat. All three share the same general design DNA: budget pricing, LiDAR navigation, all-in-one docks. The Gen 2's specific positioning is the no-camera version.
Over 3 months of testing, the Gen 2 ran daily without major drama. The cleaning isn't class-leading — that's the trade-off for budget pricing and older hardware — but it's competent for mostly hard-floor homes with modest cleaning expectations.
What's in the Box and First Setup
Setup runs about 15 minutes. The Dreame app handles Wi-Fi pairing (2.4 GHz only, standard for the category) and the LiDAR-driven first map is consistent. The app is familiar Dreame territory — no learning curve if you've used a Dreame robot before, easy enough if you haven't.

On hardwood and tile, the Dreame L10s Ultra is competent. 5,300 Pa is the lowest suction in the current Dreame lineup, so it doesn't have the headroom of newer flagships, but for daily debris and light pet hair it does the job. Hot-air drying at the dock prevents the musty smell that cheaper systems get within a few weeks.
Carpet and Pet Hair
Carpet cleaning at 6/10. Hair tangle at 6/10. Both reflect the older vacuum motor generation. For mostly hard-floor homes with light pet hair, this is fine. For deep plush carpet or heavy shedding pets, this isn't the right robot — the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat doesn't fix that either, and at that point you're looking at the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra or up.
Mopping Performance
Cold-water mop washing only. Mop pad lift is low — the pads don't get high enough off the floor during transitions, which means they can drag on carpet when the robot moves between flooring types. Not ideal for mixed-floor homes with a lot of rugs. For mostly hard-floor layouts, less of an issue.
Edge and Corner Cleaning
This is the mixed story. Mop pad wall reach is genuinely good. Side brush corner reach is genuinely not — they don't extend together, so the corners themselves miss out. For most homes the trade is acceptable. For homes with lots of tight corner geometry, it's a real limitation worth knowing.
Obstacle Avoidance
Obstacle Avoidance received the highest category score on the scorecard, tied with hassle-free factor. The onboard camera helps with clutter detection. For an older robot at this price tier, this is genuinely competitive.
The Dock and the Real Maintenance Story
The Dreame L10s Ultra dock has one feature the newer Dreame L10s Ultra siblings (L10s Ultra Gen 2 and L10s Pro Ultra Heat) don't: a removable tray. You can pull it out and take it to the sink for cleaning. Even the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and Dreame X40 don't have removable trays. It's a quiet convenience worth knowing about.
What else: automatic dock cleans and dries the mop pads with hot air after each run. No dirt detection, no solution tank with hot water. Proprietary cleaning solution bottle — but you can bypass it. The 2+ years of family operation validate the running costs match the projection.
The Dreame App Experience
Functional and mature. Scheduling, room-by-room cleaning selection, no-go zones, suction levels, and a live map view all work without surprises. Voice control through Alexa works. The Dreame ecosystem has aged well — the Dreame L10s Ultra gets firmware updates years after release, which matters for a robot you want to gift to a parent.
What I'd Change About the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2
- Higher suction. 5,300 Pa is the floor of the current category.
- Higher mop pad lift. Carpet dragging is a meaningful daily annoyance.
- Hot-water mop washing — though that's specifically what the Pro Heat sibling solves.
- Drop the proprietary solution bottle. The workaround is easy, but the lock-in isn't a great look
None of these are deal-breakers at the right price. They're the things that move the L10s Ultra from 'budget' to 'mid-range,' which is exactly the gap the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra fills.
