The Dreame L60 Ultra FE — Fine Edition, the budget L60 — is the fourth and most affordable robot in Dreame's L60 release. After 90 days of testing in my home, it earns my Just A Dad Approval. And it might be the sleeper of the entire four-robot lineup.
Here's the case. The FE shares the same dock as every other L60 robot, including the flagship Pro Ultra. That dock heats wash water to 212°F to sanitize the spinning mop pads between cleanings. It dries them with hot air. It is the same elite ThermoHub at a fraction of the price.
What's in the Box and First Setup
Setup runs about 15 minutes. The Dreame app handles Wi-Fi pairing (2.4 GHz only), and the LiDAR-driven first mapping pass goes cleanly. No camera-related setup steps because there's no camera.
What's in the box: the robot, the ThermoHub dock, the solution bottle (for the dock pad-washing reservoir), a starter dust bag, mop pads, the side brush, the TriCut brush (pre-installed — a real value, normally an upgrade purchase), and the charging cable.
Cleaning Performance: What It Actually Picks Up
Hard Floor & Tile Performance
On hardwood and tile, the FE is strong. 30,000 Pa is well above the budget standard. The TriCut brush prevents tangles on long pet hair. Mop pads push down with 10 Newtons of pressure — less than the Pro Ultra's 15N, but still meaningful for hardwood deep cleaning. The 212°F ThermoHub washing keeps those pads sanitary between rooms.
Carpet and Pet Hair
The single brush roller is the limiter compared to the Pro Ultra's dual roller, but the TriCut anti-tangle design plus 30,000 Pa suction does the job for most pet households. Hair tangle at 7.5/10. For light to moderate pet hair, the FE handles it well.
Mopping Performance
The 10N down pressure pushes pads for real scrubbing — combined with the 212°F dock washing, mopping holds up across long cleaning sessions. Important clarification: the dock detergent tank is for washing the mop pads inside the station between cleanings. It does NOT add a cleaning solution to the on-board water tank that the robot sprays on the floor. Plain water touches your floors.
Edge and Corner Cleaning
Side brush extends into corners and mop pads extend toward baseboards. Same flagship-tier mechanism as the L60 Pro Ultra and Dreame X40 Ultra — a feature most budget robots fake or skip entirely. Real edge cleaning at a budget price.
Obstacle Avoidance
Functional and reliable for standard clutter. If you specifically want AI camera obstacle detection (cords, pet bowls, kid toys), step up to the L60 Ultra PE or Pro Ultra. If you want camera-free privacy, this is exactly what you're looking for.
The No-Camera Story
This is the FE's most distinctive feature against the rest of the L60 lineup — and against most modern flagship robots. No front-facing AI camera. No microphone. The robot uses LiDAR and lasers for navigation.
For privacy-conscious households where a camera-equipped robot is a non-starter, this matters. A surprising number of buyers — especially in households with sensitive professional situations or just personal preference — actively don't want a camera mapping their home. The L60 Ultra FE is built for that audience and doesn't make you give up the flagship hot-water dock to get it.
The Dock and the Real Maintenance Story
Same ThermoHub dock as the rest of the L60 lineup. 212°F mop pad washing, hot air drying, self-cleaning. No removable tray (consistent with the rest of the L60 family). The dock detergent reservoir is for sanitizing the mop pads between cleanings, not for floor cleaning solution. Plain water hits your hardwood.
What I'd Change About the Dreame L60 Ultra FE
- Add floor-water detergent mixing. The dock has a detergent tank but uses it only for pad washing — adding it to the floor water would close the workflow.
- Slightly higher mop pressure. 10N works but the PE's 13N and Pro Ultra's 15N noticeably outperform on stuck-on hardwood messes.
- Higher threshold capability. 0.78" handles most homes but newer split-level transitions need more.

The Dreame L60 Ultra PE adds 2,000 Pa more suction (30k vs 28k effective), 3N more mop pressure (13N vs 10N), a forward-facing AI camera, and an upgraded sensor stack. The Dreame L60 Ultra FE keeps the same dock, similar brush, and the same hot-water mop wash at a noticeably lower price.
Dreame L60 Ultra FE vs Dreame L60 Pro Ultra
Same dock. The Pro Ultra adds Leap Feet 3.47" climbing, 35,000 Pa suction, 15N mop pressure, dual brush roller, and the smart AI sensor. If your home is complex (high thresholds, multiple pets, mixed flooring), the Pro Ultra is worth it. If your home is straightforward, the FE is the sleeper buy.
Dreame L60 Ultra FE vs Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2
Cross-shop within the older Dreame budget tier. Both are camera-free. The L10s Ultra Gen 2 has a cold-water dock; the L60 Ultra FE has the 212°F ThermoHub. The FE is a meaningful upgrade if you can stretch to the price difference.
