It IS Just A Dad Approved—but earn it on a deal. This is the best carpet-cleaning robot I've tested, full stop. The bagless design and big dustbin make it a genuine pet-home workhorse, and nothing beats it for raw carpet and pet hair pickup. The catch is the navigation: it leans on a top sensor instead of spinning LiDAR and gets lost more than it should, plus parts that are tough to find when something wears out. If you've got lots of carpet and grab it on sale, it's a yes. Paying near launch price for a vacuum-only robot is a harder sell.

Lately it's been showing up on sale at a far more reasonable point, and that changes the math completely. After three months of testing, the picture is clear: this is a carpet specialist with a couple of rough edges, not an all-rounder.
Dyson doesn't publish a Pascal suction figure on the box, but in testing this is one of the most powerful robot vacuums for carpet that Tom has run. The full-size brush roller does so well on carpet that it became the benchmark other robots get measured against.
Cleaning Performance: What It Actually Picks Up
Hard Floor & Tile Performance
On hardwood it's a different story — it's noticeably loud. It cleans fine, but the noise is enough that hard-floor-only homes should look elsewhere.
Carpet and Pet Hair
Carpet is where this robot earns its keep — a 9 out of 10, the best carpet score in the pool. The full-width brush roller digs in and the suction does the rest.
The amount of dog hair it pulls up is genuinely impressive. The dustbin is large and pushes collected debris to the side to make room for more, so it doesn't choke partway through a big job. It scored an 8 on the hair tangle test.
The Dock and Maintenance
The dock here only charges the robot — there's no auto-empty station. It's bagless, which means no bags to buy, and the large onboard bin is easy to empty. The real maintenance concern is parts: I couldn't track down a replacement brush roller, even third-party, and the one on the test unit was getting loud and clearly needed replacing. For a robot you intend to keep for years, that's worth weighing.
