After three months in a busy, real-life home, the MOVA P70 Pro Ultra earned the Just A Dad Approved sticker with an 8.8/10. It was a pleasure to have around — it did a really good job, and it's about as hands-off as a robot vacuum and mop gets. It cleans well, it washes its own mop pads in hot water, and it shares parts with the P10 Pro so it's cheap and easy to keep running. Here's how it held up.

Setup and First Impressions

This is one of the easiest robots to set up and live with. It's got a fixed LiDAR on top for navigation, which is nice, and it just goes to work.

Both sides of this robot are strong — mop performance and carpet cleaning both landed at 8.5. The mopping is really good because it pushes the mop heads down with 12 Newtons of force, so the pads actually scrub instead of just wiping. Carpet cleaning was great too, thanks to the increased suction power. And because the side brush reaches into corners, it cleans the whole floor, not just the open middle.

The Hot-Water Pad Wash & Base Station

This is the headline feature and the big reason to step up to the P70. The dock washes the mop pads in really hot water, which basically sterilizes and cleans them, then dries them with hot air in about an hour. Just as important for carpet homes: it leaves the mop pads back at the base station while it's vacuuming, so you don't have wet pads dragging across your carpet. It can raise and lower the pads, but leaving them at the base for vacuum-only runs is the better move.

Great for Pets

If you have pets, this one's built for you. There's a slider scale in the settings that lets you choose how often it goes back to the dock and auto-empties the dustbin — that's really important if you've got pets with long hair, because it keeps the bin from clogging up. The tangle test was great, but if your pets have really long hair you'll want to upgrade to the TriCut brush.

Obstacle avoidance was a standout — I rated it amazing. Between the LiDAR up top and the onboard camera, it did a great job getting around the usual floor clutter. The camera also means you can video-chat and check in on the house while you're out.

The Threshold Catch

Here's the one real watch-out: it rides on standard operating wheels with no chassis lift, so it can't climb high thresholds. It clears a 20mm threshold, but if you've got taller thresholds between rooms, that's where it'll get stopped. Worth measuring your doorways before you buy if your house has big transitions.

Maintenance and Cost to Own

Maintenance is easy and cheap. It shares all the same parts as the MOVA P10 Pro Gen 1 and Gen 2, which means parts are easy to find and inexpensive, and the cost to own is cheap. Day to day there's not much to it — the dock handles the pad washing and drying for you.

For a kids-and-pets home that wants the least hassle, yes. You get great mopping and vacuuming, hot-water pad washing that keeps things sanitary, pads that stay off your carpet while it vacuums, top-tier obstacle avoidance, and an onboard camera — all while staying cheap to own thanks to shared, easy-to-find parts. Just know the trade-offs: standard wheels that won't climb high thresholds, and that it's close enough to the cheaper P10 Pro Gen 2 that the pad washing is the main reason to pay up. Work around those and it earns the Just A Dad Approved sticker.
