What's in the box: the robot, the Multifunctional Dock 3.0 Thermo+ (curved aesthetic), spinning mop pads, FlexiArm Arc Side Brush, the DuoDivide split-brush (pre-installed), starter dust bag, station ramp, cleaning brush, and the charging cable. You'll want extra dust bags right away — Roborock only includes one, and the dock's bag-fit issue means you'll be swapping more often than the capacity suggests.
Eight Months In, the Wins Hold Up
Long-term testing is where most robots show their cracks. The Roborock CurvX showed almost none. The DuoDivide split-brush, which the marketing pitches as a hair-tangle solution, actually delivered on that promise across 8+ months in a long-haired pet household — the brush roll stayed remarkably clean. The obstacle camera kept consistently avoiding cords, shoes, pet bowls, and small toys. The dock connection stayed reliable. The mop reach kept getting into the corners.
The Roborock CurvX also held its value as a deal. Roborock has put this robot on sale frequently at really good prices, which is the smartest way to buy it. At those sale prices, the Just A Dad Approved recommendation is one of the easiest of the year.
Cleaning Performance: What It Actually Picks Up
Hard Floor & Tile Performance
22,000 Pa HyperForce suction is the highest in the current Roborock Qrevo lineup, and it shows on hardwood and tile. The DuoDivide split-brush grabs debris without flinging it, and the side-reach spinning mop pads scrub corners along walls. Brushless motors keep mop-only operation as quiet as 53 dB. Flagship-tier hard-floor cleaning, holds up across long-term testing.
Carpet and Pet Hair — The Standout
On low and medium piles, the Roborock CurvX pulls debris out without drama. It's not going to replace an upright on deep-pile carpet — no robot does — but for the kind of carpet most homes actually have, it earns its 8. The chassis lift on carpet adds a small but real improvement in suction efficiency. Hair tangle at 9/10 is where Roborock has separated themselves from the pack. After 8+ months in a long-haired pet household, the brush roll stays remarkably clean — that's the test that matters, not a 30-second demo.
Mopping Performance
The mop reach gets into the edges and corners where most robots leave a dirty perimeter, and over 8+ months of testing it kept the hard floors consistently clean. The Thermo+ Dock 3.0 heats wash water to 176°F (80°C) — the hottest mop wash in the Curv line — which makes a real difference on greasy kitchen floors. Warm air drying at 113°F over 2–4 hours prevents mildew. The extendable right-side mop precisely cleans along edges. Dual rotating microfiber pads spin at 200 RPM and press down with up to 12N of pressure in Deep Cleaning mode.
Edge and Corner Cleaning
FlexiArm Arc Side Brush (asymmetric arc design that extends toward corners) + extending right-side mop pad cover edges and corners cleanly. Same approach as the Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X and Roborock Qrevo Edge — flagship-execution edge cleaning, not faked.
Obstacle Avoidance — Flagship-Level
The Roborock CurvX wins the obstacle game. Reactive AI 3.0 plus RGB camera plus structured light detect 108 object types. Combined with the low-profile 3.14" chassis, it gets places other robots literally cannot fit, and once it's in there, it navigates cleanly without getting beached or confused. Across long-term testing, it consistently avoided cords, shoes, pet bowls, and small toys.
The Under-Furniture Story — Why 3.14" Matters
Most flagship robots stand at 4 inches or more. That extra inch matters in real homes. Many couches sit 3.5–4 inches off the floor. Low bed frames are common. Kitchen toe-kicks under cabinets are typically around 3.5 inches. A 4-inch robot can't physically access these spaces — the dust and pet hair that accumulates underneath stays underneath.
The Roborock CurvX is 3.14 inches with the LiDAR retracted (RetractSense automatically lowers the LiDAR tower when overhead clearance gets tight, then raises it again in open areas for full 360° mapping). It gets into spaces other flagships can't reach. For households where under-furniture dust is the daily complaint, this is the headline feature.
Two Real Quirks That Did Show Up
Two things worth flagging that don't show up in the launch marketing. The lid on the top of the robot falls off more often than it should — not a deal-breaker, but a recurring small nuisance during the testing window. It snaps back on quickly, usually after the robot bumps into furniture.
And the dust bag in the dock fills up quicker than the bag's actual capacity would suggest, because the bag does not seat correctly in the cavity. This is the same flaw present on the original Qrevo Curv and the Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X — a Curv-dock family pattern. The bag works; you just change it sooner than the marketed lifespan. The Roborock Qrevo Edge solved this with a redesigned dock. The Roborock CurvX kept the curved aesthetic and kept the bag flaw along with it.
The Ad vs Reality threshold climb claim also FAILED in formal testing. The AdaptiLift chassis works as advertised for carpet, but the tall-threshold marketing pushed beyond what the system delivers in practice. For homes with raised carpet transitions or step-up entries between rooms, the Roborock CurvX handles them — but for buyers who specifically need flagship-tier threshold climbing, the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete (ProLeap 2.0, 3.46") is the better pick.
Neither issue moved the verdict. But buyers should know going in that they'll be re-seating the lid occasionally, changing dust bags slightly more often than the bag size suggests, and not expecting flagship-tier tall-threshold performance.
Cost to Own — All Low, Like the Rest of the Roborock Lineup
Every replacement part lands in the Low tier — dust bags, filters, side brushes, mop pads, main brush, and cleaning solution. Overall annual maintenance lands in the Low tier as well, approximately $306/year OEM. Roborock's parts ecosystem is mature, parts are widely available, and the Roborock CurvX inherits all of it. Long-term ownership costs are not a concern. Combined with frequent Roborock sale pricing, the value math is one of the strongest in the flagship tier.

Generational upgrade within the Curv family. The Roborock CurvX gains 3,500 Pa (22,000 vs 18,500), 0.5" less height (3.14" vs 3.74"), 5°C hotter mop washing (80°C vs 75°C), and RetractSense LiDAR. It loses some battery capacity. The retractable LiDAR plus the slimmer profile is the real differentiator. Worth upgrading from the Roborock Curv only if you have extreme low-furniture needs.
Roborock Qrevo CurvX vs Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow
Same Curv family, different mop type. The Roborock CurvX has spinning mop pads (traditional Roborock approach) and 40mm AdaptiLift threshold climbing. The Roborock Curv 2 Flow has the new SpiraFlow roller mop (one of the best Gen 1 mop rollers I’ve tested) but only 10mm threshold climb and no FlexiArm side brush. Hard-floor-heavy + tall thresholds = CurvX. Hard-floor-heavy + no tall thresholds + want the best mop = Curv 2 Flow.
Roborock Qrevo CurvX vs Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete
Cross-shop at the very top of the flagship tier. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete has ProLeap 2.0 climbing (3.46") — solving the Roborock CurvX's threshold weakness — plus dual AI cameras and full Matter integration. The Roborock CurvX has the slim profile that fits under furniture the Dreame can't reach, Roborock's mature app ecosystem, and frequently better sale pricing. Different value propositions: pick the Dreame for tall-threshold homes and Matter; pick the Curv X for under-furniture access and long-hair handling on a sale price.
