BOTTOM LINE: Is the Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Just a Dad Approved?
It IS Just a Dad Approved — This is a premium robot that earns its price tag. Obstacle avoidance is the best I've tested at 9.3/10, the climbing chassis handles thresholds that would stop most robots cold, and the retracting LiDAR gets it under furniture other robots simply can't reach. Maintenance stays easy despite all the tech packed in. It's a splurge, not a budget pick, but for a home with a mix of hard floors and carpet, pets, and kids' clutter, this is my top pick in the category.

MOPPING TEST
Clean straight vacuum lines, sometimes angled. Pads wash near-boiling; dirty water tank stayed cleaner than typical roller-mop robots.
This robot has done a genuinely great job at my home. Vacuuming was a real highlight — nice straight lines, and it alternates to an angled cleaning pattern on some runs, which looks sharp when I walk in. Navigation reminds me of Roborock's own Qrevo Curv X, since it shares that same trick of lowering its LiDAR to get under furniture. This one also adds the threshold-climbing wheels I've seen on the Saros 20, so it lands like a genuine combination of the Saros 20 and the Qrevo Edge 2 that came before it.
Cleaning Performance
Hard Floor & Tile
It vacuums really thick carpet and does a fine job of it. On hard floors, vacuuming in nice straight lines was a genuine highlight of testing.
Mopping
This uses standard mop pads, and it can extend them out for better edge coverage. Mopping did an okay job overall. The dock washes the pads with water close to boiling, and the dirty water tank ran dirty during testing, though noticeably less so than a traditional mop-roller robot. It automatically leaves the mop pads back at the dock before vacuuming carpet, which is a nice touch.
Obstacle and Thresholds
This is where the robot separates itself — the best obstacle avoidance I've tested, and a climbing chassis that handles thresholds most robots can't touch. Being this thin cuts both ways: it can go into more places than almost anything else I've tested, which means a more thorough clean, but it also means it can wedge itself into trouble occasionally. I'd plan on setting a few extra no-go zones early on, just because of how small a gap it can fit into.
The Dock and Maintenance
Maintenance on this is super easy despite how much tech is packed into it. I like the new style of docking station — it washes the mop pads with extremely hot water, close to boiling. Fast charging and the dual water tank setup round it out.
App Experience
The app is really easy to use, with all the advanced features you'd expect from a premium robot. It's got a camera on board for obstacle detection and pet photos, and Matter smart-home support for anyone building out a connected home setup.
What I'd Change
Nothing major — the thinness that makes this robot so capable is also the one thing I'd keep an eye on, since it can wedge into small gaps other robots wouldn't attempt.
Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro vs the Competition
Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro vs Roborock Saros 20
Roborock's other flagship, and a close relative — both bring serious suction and carpet performance. The Edge 3 Pro's edge is the retracting LiDAR and the under-furniture reach that comes with it.
Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro vs Mova V50 Complete
A different ecosystem at a lower price point, with its own strong threshold climbing. Worth a look if the premium price tag here is more robot than you need.
Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro vs Dreame X60 Ultra
A different ecosystem entirely with comparable flagship suction. Worth cross-shopping if you're not tied to the Roborock app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common Buyer Questions
Is the Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro worth buying?+
Yes — it earned my top pick in this category with a 9/10 overall score. Obstacle avoidance is the best I've tested, it climbs thresholds most robots can't, and the retracting LiDAR gets it under furniture other robots simply skip
Can it get stuck since it's so thin?+
Occasionally, yes. Being this thin lets it reach spots taller robots never attempt, but that also means it can wedge itself into trouble sometimes — I'd recommend setting a few extra no-go zones early on.
Does it handle thick carpet well?+
Yes — Carpet Cleaning scored 8.9/10, and it does a fine job on really thick carpet specifically.
How does it compare to the Roborock Saros 20?+
Both are Roborock flagships with strong suction and carpet performance. The Edge 3 Pro's advantage is its retracting LiDAR, which lets it clean under furniture the Saros 20 can't reach.
Does the mop pad reach into corners?+
Yes — the mop pads extend for better edge and corner coverage, and the dock automatically leaves them behind before the robot vacuums carpet.
