An AI Win Surrounded by Real-World Frustrations
The Standout Feature
The Yeedi M14 Plus arrived as a budget-tier mop roller robot with one feature that genuinely is impressive: an AI dirt detection sensor on the front of the robot that sees liquid spills in real time, switches into a mopping-only event, runs a crisscross cleaning pattern over the affected area, and then goes back to the dock to wash the mop roller. No input required from the owner. This feature works exactly as the marketing claims.
Where the Trade-offs Add Up
Everything around that feature is where the M14 ran into trouble for me. Battery life required multiple recharges to finish a full cleaning in my home — most competitors at this price only need one. I had to set more no-go zones than I do for other robots in my testing pool just to keep it out of trouble. Maintenance was harder to access than the spinning-pad robots I've tested in the same price range. And the hair wrap test was a real disappointment for a pet household like mine.
The 90-Day Verdict
After 90+ days, my verdict landed at Skip It. Not because the robot is broken — the AI mopping is real, the suction is decent, the dock auto-empties — but because the trade-offs add up to more daily frustration than I think buyers at this price should accept when better alternatives exist.
What's in the Box and First Setup — The Pump Priming Issue
Setup runs about 15 minutes — but only after dealing with the pump priming issue. The water pump on my unit was not primed from the factory, which meant the first cleaning attempt ran completely dry. Tom had to use a turkey baster to force water through the system to get the pump working. This product has a high return rate on Amazon, and I suspect this onboarding issue is a meaningful chunk of the reason why.
Whether this is a one-time fix or a recurring quality control problem is hard to know from a single unit's testing. But if you buy the M14 anyway, plan for the possibility that you'll need to manually prime the pump before the first cleaning. That's not the launch experience most buyers at this price expect, and it's part of the case for picking a more mature mop roller robot instead.

Cleaning Performance: What It Actually Picks Up
Hard Floor & Tile Performance — The AI Mop Highlight
The headline category and the only genuinely strong category on this robot. The AI Dirt Detect sensor on the front does see liquid spills, switches into a mopping-only event automatically, completes a crisscross cleaning pattern, and goes back to rewash the mop roller without any input. The OZMO Roller mop is 6.89" wide, rotates at 200 RPM, and has 4,000 Pa of downward pressure for stubborn stains. The base station washes with hot water (167°F) and dries with hot air (113°F).
Carpet and Pet Hair — The Pet Disqualifier
On the carpet test, vacuum performance was strong — it’s was about 99% clean — and the crisscross cleaning pattern on carpet is a nice touch. But the small dust bin fills up quickly, which limits the Yeedi M14 to short runs before it needs emptying. Hair tangle at 6/10. Significant hair wrap during testing. The single brush roller has a center comb but is not tangle-free, and the auto-empty function clogged during the hair test. For long-haired pet homes, this is the deciding category that pushes the verdict toward Skip It.
Edge and Corner Cleaning — The Ad vs Reality FAIL
This is where the Ad vs Reality "100% corner cleaning" claim FAILED. The side brush doesn't extend toward corners (no FlexiArm-style reach), and the mop roller leaves debris in corners. For homes with a lot of edge geometry, this is a real limitation that the marketing oversold.
Obstacle Avoidance
The LiDAR mapping itself is accurate and the navigation pattern is generally clean. The weakness is on small objects. There's no camera on this robot, so the obstacle avoidance sensor struggles with cables — it will run right over them — and other small floor items. Tom found himself adding more no-go zones than he typically needs with other robots just to keep the M14 out of trouble across 90+ days.
Better Robots Are Available at Similar Prices
The case for Skip It locks in when you look at what else is available at this price. The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow is Roborock's first mop roller — also Gen 1, also brand new — and it cleans materially better, has a more polished SpiraFlow system, and uses Roborock's mature parts ecosystem. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen2, one of the easiest current recommendations in the channel, is a stronger overall robot at a similar tier. If your home is larger, has pets, or has any clutter that needs avoidance, the M14 is not the right buy. The Roborock and the MOVA alternatives cover those households better at comparable pricing.
Cost to Own — Low, But It Doesn't Save the Verdict
Replacement parts for the M14 land in the Low cost tier across every part category, and overall annual maintenance also lands Low. Dust bags, filters, side brushes, mop rollers, the main brush, and cleaning solution are all reasonably priced and reasonably available. The cost-to-own picture is fine — it's just not enough to override the day-one decision. The smarter move is buying a robot that doesn't generate as much daily friction, and the Low-tier cost stays Low on the alternatives too.

Yeedi M14 Plus vs Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow
Both are Gen 1 mop roller robots. The Curv 2 Flow has SpiraFlow self-cleaning roller (8 hydration nozzles + internal scraper), 20,000 Pa, DuoDivide split-brush (solves the M14's hair wrap problem), Reactive AI 3.0 obstacle avoidance, and the Multifunctional Dock 4.0. The Curv 2 Flow has its own Gen 1 quirks (10mm threshold limitation, Less Collision setting), but the engineering is meaningfully more polished. For mop roller buyers, Curv 2 Flow > M14 Plus across nearly every dimension.
Yeedi M14 Plus vs MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2
Cross-shop at the same price tier. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 has 26,000 Pa, 12N TurboPress mopping, 212°F PTC hot water, FlexiArm side reach, and TriCut brush option for pet households — one of my budget-flagship recommendations. The M14 Plus has the AI dirt detect feature; the MOVA has materially better fundamentals. For most buyers, MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 is the answer.
Yeedi M14 Plus vs Ecovacs T80 (parent brand)
Yeedi is an Ecovacs subsidiary that produces budget alternatives to Ecovacs's own robots. The Ecovacs T80 is the parent-brand equivalent at a higher tier with stronger cleaning and a more mature platform. If you're committed to the Ecovacs/Yeedi family, the T80 is the cleaner pick — but at that price, the Roborock and MOVA alternatives become the smarter buys.
